South Sider Nostalgia Night

On Wednesday July 29^th, beginning at 5:00 PM, Max and Benny's Restaurant, Deli & Bakery will host a South Siders night at 461 Waukegan Rd, Northbrook, IL. Caryn Amster, author of “The Pied Piper of the South Shore”, and Mitch Markovitz, the Illustrator of the same, will be on hand signing books and posters. Their remarkable knowledge of the history of the South Side, as well as their gracious willingness to chat about it, will make for a great evening of nostalgia. Several Iconic South Side businesses will participate in the tasty celebration of our youth as South Siders. Among them, Mitchell’s Ice Cream will be prominently featured, and of course, Lester Schlan, a proud product of the South Side himself, will show off Max and Benny’s famous fare.
